Assistant in Nursing Traineeship
Do you want to be part of the team helping patients to recover in our hospitals?
Ever thought about being a nurse, but were unsure about how or where to start?

Maybe an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) traineeship is for you.

WA Health is working with Central Institute of Technology to prepare interested and capable people to work with nurses in Perth hospitals. This traineeship offers a mix of classroom work and on-the-job training. Once you have completed the six-month full-time program you will receive a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Acute Care).

As an AIN, you always work with the support and direction of a registered nurse. Some of the things you will be doing include:
assisting patients with their meal set up and feeding
assisting with hygiene needs such as with showering, shaving and mouth care
assisting patients to get in and out of bed, chairs and to mobilise within the ward environment
helping staff keep patients safe by keeping a watchful eye on those who might be restless or confused
supporting the ward team by answering patient call bells and ward telephones
general ward restocking, tidy and cleanliness

Trainees are paid a wage of $785 per week and enjoy all the benefits of learning in a progressive and friendly environment.

Applications for 2012 Programs open 9th January and close 20th January 2012.
